Bucharest, May 15, 2019 – “Tzuby’s Kids” Association and Romania Without Orphans Alliance, in partnership with SUN PLAZA Romania, organized the “Family Imprint” event on May 15 – International Family Day – within the Commercial Center.
The event included a series of workshops that parents and children enjoyed, such as face-painting, drawings, and family imprint artworks with the hands of all family members.
The purpose of the event is to draw attention to the fact that in Romania we have over 50,000 children deprived of parental care, of whom almost 20,000 are institutionalized in social apartments, social houses or even orphanages. Unfortunately, once a child gets into the system, they stay there an average of 7.5 years. Only 6% have the chance to be adopted (they are declared adoptable) and only 2.5% are actually adopted each year.
The chance for children to experience healing is to get into a family where they can be cared for with a competent love. That is why the “Tzuby’s Kids” Association is involved in promoting adoption and family placement, as well as in providing competent care for children with trauma history. “Tzuby’s Kids” is a member of Romania Without Orphans Alliance (ARFO) and part of the Alliance Trauma Consortium.
Participating in the event was free of charge for the Sun Plaza Shopping Center customers access from Sudului Square Metro Station or by parking – over 2,000 seats on two levels. Sun Plaza has a total area of 208,000 square meters and houses over 140 stores.
